Coach Eddie Callanan brings experience and a passion for the game to Apex! A standout soccer player in his own right, Eddie honed his skills at Mason City High School before continuing his collegiate career at NIACC.

Coach Callanan served as an assistant coach at Mason City High School, where he helped shape young athletes. Since joining Apex in January, Eddie has enjoyed coaching a variety of age groups, from 9U through 14U. In the Spring 2025 season, he served as Assistant Coach for 11U Select Boys and as a Staff Coach for both 9U-10U Academy Boys and 9U-10U Academy Girls. For the 2025-2026 season, Eddie is the Head Coach for the 12U Select Boys team. In addition, Eddie will serve as a staff coach for the 10U Boys Academy program.

Outside of coaching, Eddie enjoys a variety of hobbies including playing video games, chess, and spending quality time with friends and family.

One of Eddie's guiding philosophies comes from Teddy Roosevelt's "Man in the Arena" speech, a testament to his belief in perseverance and dedication.
