The game of soccer is quickly growing amongst the state of Iowa and more players than ever are wanting to get involved in the sport. As the game continues to grow it can be chaotic to know what opportunities are out there or what programming you should be looking at to get your kid involved in. Below is all the soccer programming that is based out of Norwalk, Iowa.
Apex Soccer Academy Program
About: The Academy program at Apex is similar to the Select program mentioned below. The main difference between the two is the Academy program is tailored for 9U & 10U players and does not have tryouts. This program is for players that are wanting to make the jump from their rec/youth programs into a fast pace, high achieving environment and have a passion for the game of soccer. The Academy program is ran by Mark Gavin who holds his USSF B License. The Apex Academy program has a clear pathway into the select and soccer beyond the high school level.
Seasons: Fall & Spring Season. Academy runs two seasons each year with a similar structure across both seasons.

Apex Soccer Select Program
About: The Select program consists of the fall and spring seasons for each school year for 11U-14U. For the 15U-19U age groups the program is for fall. Players are selected via tryouts and invitations. Tryouts are held in June for the upcoming fall and spring seasons. The coaches at tryouts will closely evaluate players andd send bids out to players based on performance. All coaches at Apex Soccer Academy are professional coaches who have either experience playing or coaching at some of the highest levels. Apex soccer has specific circulumn and player develpment pathway to give players the best opportunity to reach their soccer aspirations. The Select and Academy programs at Apex are considered the highest level of youth soccer offered in the Norwalk area.
Seasons: Fall Season & Spring Season for ages 11U-14U, Fall season only for ages 15U-19U.

Norwalk Soccer Club Rec
About: Norwalk Soccer Club is focused on developing youth soccer players and offer teams 7U though 14U. Team are based on age (birth year). There are no tryouts for recreational teams. Players will play at least 50% of each game. Team formation / player placement is different in soccer than other sports. Players are placed by birth year (not grade) to form teams. Often times we will need to combine two age groups to make a team. When possible, teams will remain the same from fall to spring seasons. Coaches are volunteers. NSC provides coaches with activities and ideas/concepts for practices.

Norwalk Parks and Rec Program
About: Norwalk Parks and Recreation offers soccer twice a year, in the Spring and Fall. The programs take place in the Spring & Fall as if for children aged as young as preschool up until the 7th grade.
Norwalk Parks and Rec offer programming each season for children age Preschool (age 4) to 7th grade. The Parks and Rec program is ran by volunteer coaches and gives players an opportunity to grow a love for the game without a large time commitment or travel throughout the season. All functions take place at the McAninch Sports Complex in Norwalk. Volunteer coaches are needed for these programs!
