Mark Gavin
is the Apex Soccer Academy Director of Coaching and current Director of Coaching at Norwalk Soccer Club. Coach Gavin has over 15 years of experience coaching competitive soccer in Colorado and Iowa U6 through U19 age groups. He coached high school girls soccer and helped Aurora Central to its first-ever conference title and 3 straight state playoff berths. Coach Gavin holds the U.S. Youth Soccer National Youth License as well as the U.S. Soccer National D license. In addition, Mark earned the National Diploma and the National Goalkeeping (Level 3) Diploma from NSCAA.  He also completed the Coerver Youth Diploma course in 2014.  Mark grew up in Indianola and played for Indianola Soccer Tribe and Indianola High School and continued to play into his early thirties in adult leagues in Colorado. 

Mike Wilson is the Assistant Director of Coaching and has over 20 years of coaching experience at youth, high school and college levels.  Coach Wilson holds an USSF National 'C' License, Advanced National Diploma, National Diploma, Director of Coaching Diploma and Goalkeeping Level 1 Diploma from the United Soccer Coaches organization. Mike comes to Apex Soccer Academy from the Indianola Soccer Tribe where he has volunteered at various capacities since 2012.  Most recently, he has operated as the Director of Coaching since 2017. Shelley Heckert
served as Head Coach for the 12U Girls team for the last 2 years. Shelley is a lead coach for the 9U-10U Academy program for both boys and girls. Coach Heckert has been coaching ages 6U-14U since 2012 She has her US Soccer E License and her D certificate as well as the 9v9 US Soccer certificate. She played soccer in her youth and for Indianola High School. Shelley earned her degree in Health and Human Performance at Iowa State University. She is a certified fitness instructor for a variety of classes including Barre, body pump, PiYo, TRX and many more. In her spare she enjoys watching her 3 kids play soccer and volunteers as a youth group leader for middle school and high school kids in Indianola. 

Gabe Crall served as Head Coach for Apex 12U Boys team in 2018-2019. Coach Crall has also spent the past two seasons as an Assistant Coach for the Norwalk High School Boys Program.  Coach Crall is third on the all-time scoring charts at Norwalk High School, and fourth all time in assists.  He was a member of the 2007 State Championship team as well as State Finalist teams in 2006 and 2008, and a State Qualifying team in 2005.  After playing at NHS Coach Crall played one season at Wartburg College, before finishing his degree at the University of Iowa. 

Dennis May served as Technical Director for the Indianola Soccer Tribe (IST) prior to joining Apex a few years ago. He was responsible for creating curriculum for coaches and leading training sessions for all age groups U6-U19. Prior to his Technical Director role, Coach May was a head coach for 5 years for teams ranging from U10-U14. Coach May has worked with 9U-10U Academy players and 11U and 12U boys. Coach May has the U.S. Soccer National D License, the United Soccer Coaches' Director of Coaching Diploma and is a licensed U.S. Soccer Referee.  He played soccer from a young age through his late twenties.

LeGrand Bien-Aime Holds a National F and E license from U.S. Soccer. He was born and raised in Haiti and soccer was a way of life. It became a part of his everyday routine at a young age. After moving to the United States in 1998 he continued that way of life and playing soccer. While attending Stranahan High School Fl, LeGrand Participated in Soccer, Football, Track, and Volleyball while also playing for the Hollywood Wildcats Soccer Club. After Graduating High school, he pursued a career playing collegiate football and track & Field but never losing sight of his first love in soccer. Upon completion of his collegiate career he began training soccer athletes. Coach Bien-Aime began coaching in 2010. He has coached Level 1 and Level 2 teams for Norwalk Soccer Club since 2011.  Coach Bien-Aime has coached girls and boys from ages 10-17 both at the select level and recreational level. His passion for learning and his athletes drives him to continue to further his knowledge and improve as a coach as He aspires to further his education on the game and look to earn his National D license in the upcoming year. LeGrand served as an assistant coach to the Norwalk HS girls program for a few years. LeGrand is now the head coach for the SE Polk High School Girls Soccer Program.
